1930SummerA nest of this species was found by Rnlph Woolsey and Stanley Stein, near Shakopee on June 8th, containing one egg and one young bird.
1932SummerNo nests of this avi·~ore were found, ~ both by Evans. 'the first was found May 11 when it cont~ined ! .3 eggs. There were 4 eggs when Dobie photographed the nest a week later. The other nest also had 4 eBgs 1~hen it was toupd on May 291 at Brainerdo '
1933Summer Five nests of this accipiter were reported fron quito widely scattered localities in the state. Tho earliest is from the vicinity c£ St. Cloud, found by Hiemenz on May 2nd. It contained one ee~. Stein found a nest noor Shakopee en Nay 9th which contnined 4 eggs. A nest with 4 eggs was found on May 14th near Redwood Falls by Cunni.ns, and Grines reports a nest with 4 henvily-incubntod eggs for Pennington County, found on June 7th. At Sturgeon Lake, on July 13th, cur geed friend Risser observed young nbout ready to leave the nest, and we are i11c~ebted to hin for tho following interesting note: 11I revisited the nest on the 16th, hoping to take back one or two of the young for pots. The adult· was not around this tine. \·Then I started to clinb the tree, five youne hawks flew out rather feebly in different directions. I could follow vnly one. I tried to force hi."l down by hittinG the branch he was on w~th sticks. It was inpossiblo to hit hiu because he was protected by s one of tho outer branches, but I threw at least 60 sticks, nnd hit tho branch he was on o. dozen tL10s or more, usua.lly with such force that he flapped his wings and nearly lost his balance. 1934Summer On May 3rd DuToit and Upson found a nest containing 3 eggs of this darting scanp. Tho latest nest reported hold 4 eggs and was found by Hiemenz near Clearwater, \•Tricht County, on Hay 25th.
1935Summer Dr. and Hrs. Donald l1a.hle report a nest with J eggs seen at Gray Cloud Island on May 5th. !Tosser sa.w ·allc>t.her nest at Linwood Lake, Anoka County. On June 7th the female was in cubating 4 eggs, and when Upson saw thi~ nest on June '15th the 4 young had just hatched. On July 19th a single young bird remainedo ·
1936Summer Tho first reported nest wn.s found on May 2nd by Charles Evc.ns, Dr. o.nd 'Hrs. Mahle, nnd H.S. Dhesi in a tamarnck swamp near Minneapolis. At this time the nest held one egg; tho folloWing day Robert Upson Viewed it when it held two eggs. Dr. Risser found a nest of four eggs near Frontenac on May 1oth. A nest of four eggs was located near So. St. Paul by tho Na.hlos on Ma.y 16th.
1937SummerA lined nest was found on April 24 at Minneapolis by R. Upson. On May 3 the nest had two eggs as its contents.
1938SummerA nest of this bird Hawk was found on May IO at Min­neapolis by Dana Struthers and Ward Zimmerman; on June 7 at Linwood Lake in Anoka Co14nry, W. ]. Breckenridge found another. In each instance the nest held 4 eggs.
1940SummerThe reports for this species come on widely separated dates. The T. S. Roberts Club found a nest with an incubating bird on March 30, at Cold Spring. Mr. L. Hackl found a young hawk on the ground under the nest he located on the North Shore of Lake Superior near Duluth on July r.
1944Summer3. May 12, four eggs (hatched on June 9); June 10, four eggs hatching; Hennepin, Olson. July 16, two young left nest when ap­proached by Brother Hubert and Broth­er Pius, Ramsey County.

The Twin Cities region accounted for 17 of the reports. North reports from Clay, Hubbard and Todd were deleted because of poor details or lack of details. Additionally, details were solicited for most southern observations, but only three were documented: 1/11 Hennepin TT, 1/19 Rice JL, and 1/20–24 McLeod RbS. Although Cooper's Hawks have increased significantly in the past 10 years as a breeding species, and probably as a wintering species as well, observers are asked to adequately document accipiter sightings (see below).

North reports after December from six counties, all singles, with most from St. Louis (several different birds, Duluth). Widely reported south from 37 counties (including Pennington); reports after December from 28 counties (all singles except several counts of 2). CBC high counts 12/18 Rochester (5), Mankato (4), Excelsior (4), Jackson County (4), Faribault (4).
